Immersive Installation Video — 2025

In 2025 collaboration with the USC Immersive Media Lab, Kidspace Children's Museum, and the J. Paul Getty Trust, the exhibition brought together multiple artists to create a collective five-senses experience. Within this collaboration, I was responsible for the visual component of the installation, creating the animated imagery that shaped the spatial mood and guided the audience’s perception of the space.

The visuals were projected on a mirror within a darkened space to create a quiet but magical infinite atmosphere. The piece invited visitors to momentarily step away from the rhythm of everyday life and enter a calm, contemplative sensory environment.

The animation above was created as a promotional work for the exhibition. I led the motion and animation, with visual design by Floria Huang.

Projection Mapping Installation — 2024

As part of a campus event organized by the USC Immersive Media Lab and USC Visions and Voices, this projection mapping installation was presented in the courtyard of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. The project transformed the building’s façade into a large-scale visual surface, turning the architectural space into an immersive public artwork.

Created using Cinema 4D and TouchDesigner, the visuals were designed with careful consideration of the building’s height and the viewer’s perspective at ground level. By referencing the scale of the architecture and the human viewpoint, the animation created spatial distortions and visual illusions that interacted with the structure itself.

The animation above was created as a promotional piece for the exhibition. I led the motion and design, working under the guidance of Michael Peterson, Professor of Cinematic Arts.

Personal Artworks — 2023

In 2023, I created a series of personal animation projects exploring both 2D and 3D techniques. These works reflect a wide range of experimentation, from intricate 2D motion design to fully realized 3D environments, showcasing my ability to translate artistic vision into dynamic animated experiences.

Each piece combines technical skill with creative storytelling, using movement, timing, and visual composition to craft immersive, expressive worlds. Whether through delicate 2D animations or complex 3D sequences, these personal projects allowed me to push the boundaries of form, color, and motion while refining my animation practice across multiple mediums.

Seoul Auction Promotion Artworks — 2023

Although auction houses typically do not hire in-house digital designers, I had the opportunity to join Seoul Auction by chance, where I spent my time leading numerous promotional videos and branding projects.

This was an incredibly passionate period for me—arguably the most intense and enthusiastic of my career.

Working largely independently, I was able to take full ownership of the workflow, from video compositing to leveraging my strengths in 2D and 3D animation. This experience not only allowed me to apply my skills across a wide range of projects but also significantly expanded my abilities, giving me the confidence to handle complex visual storytelling and integrated digital production on my own.

I managed the full post-production workflow for the video below, taking ownership of all stages from compositing and color grading to motion graphics and visual effects, with the exception of the model shoot. This allowed me to integrate my expertise in 2D and 3D animation, crafting dynamic sequences that enhanced the overall storytelling and visual impact of the piece. By overseeing the project end-to-end, I ensured that every visual element aligned with the creative vision and maintained a cohesive, professional finish.

NFT Art Project 1 — 2021-2022

This NFT project was based on the works of Ahn Seongha, a realist oil painter. The goal was to translate her traditional oil paintings into fully realized 3D digital artworks while preserving the subtle textures and tactile qualities of her brushstrokes. I handled the project’s entire 3D pipeline, including modeling, shading, animation, and final rendering using Maya and other 3D tools, transforming her static paintings into dynamic, immersive experiences.

Each piece was carefully interpreted to retain the painterly realism, while adding motion and depth that could only be achieved in 3D. By simulating brushstroke textures and volumetric forms, I created animations that enhanced the visual richness of the original works, allowing viewers to experience them in a new, spatially engaging way. This project showcases my ability to bring traditional fine art into the digital realm, fully controlling the 3D animation workflow to ensure the artist’s style and intent were maintained while expanding the work into a modern, animated format.

NFT Art Project 2 — 2021-2022

In 2021, I worked on a collaborative NFT project with Seoul Auction and a prominent contemporary Korean hand-drawing artist. The project reimagined the artist’s signature style as digital artwork, translating his traditional drawings into modern 3D visuals and reaching a broader audience. A total of 30 pieces were minted, with one artwork showcased each week through the auction platform.

I led all 3D animation, shading, and motion design for the project, creating the dynamic visual elements that brought each piece to life. The artist provided the creative concept, while I translated his style into motion, including modeling and animating vehicles and other assets, under the guidance of the art director.

NFT Art Project 3 — 2021-2022

In 2021, I worked on one of several collaborative NFT projects with Seoul Auction and a prominent contemporary Korean illustrator. This particular project reimagined the artist’s signature flat illustrations as digital artwork, breaking down each piece into elements for subtle 2D animation. Using After Effects, I created restrained motion and complementary visual effects that preserved the integrity of the original drawings while bringing them to life.

I led all 2D animation, motion design, and visual effects for the project, including animations that were later used as an endless loop background for a TV wall showcasing the NFT collection. The artist provided the creative concept, and I translated it into motion, ensuring that the animations enhanced the artwork without compromising its original style. A total of 30 pieces were minted, with one artwork showcased each week through the auction platform.

NFT Art Project 4 — 2021-2022

This project was a collaboration with Isara, an illustrator known for her strikingly large-eyed girl characters. Each of her illustrations was carefully traced and digitally reconstructed, with every small element meticulously animated to create a richly detailed NFT artwork. Up close, the work reveals that even the tiniest components are in motion, contributing to a dynamic, layered visual experience.

I was solely responsible for all motion and animation, using After Effects to bring the illustrations to life while preserving the integrity and charm of Isara’s original style. Every subtle movement, from delicate facial expressions to tiny environmental details, was crafted to enhance the depth and allure of the digital artwork.

Title card animation — 2021

While working as a freelance motion designer in New York, I joined Nickelodeon, where my role extended beyond traditional 2D and 3D animation. I was responsible for creating title card animations and producing promotional videos for billboards where Nickelodeon maintains a presence, updated quarterly.

Working from the concept designers’ final approved designs, I handled the full 3D animation, lighting, and compositing workflow, translating static concepts into dynamic, polished motion pieces that maintained the brand’s visual identity and high production standards.

Noggin App Hub Design — 2019

Nickelodeon launched Noggin, an educational app for young children, and I was responsible for creating the banner animations for the platform. Using Cinema 4D as the primary tool, I emphasized the puzzle-themed concept to make the visuals engaging and playful for the app’s audience. Above showcases a selection of the many hub banners I produced, demonstrating my work in 3D animation, motion design, and compositing to bring static concepts to life in a dynamic and child-friendly way.
